March 3 - 9: National Sleep Awareness Week
To honor National Sleep Awareness Week, I will be discussing daily this week sleep health & sleep disorders. Most people with chronic illness will have sleep disorders as one of their symptoms. In some chronic illnesses, like CFS & Fibromyalgia, over 90% of the patients will have sleep disorders as a major symptom of their illness.
As a part of National Sleep Awareness Week, the National Sleep Foundation is having a Great American Sleep Challenge. You can find out if you are a Sleep Savvy Sage, a So-So Sleeper or a Sleep Zombie. The Great American Sleep Challenge an online campaign to help people get the most out of their sleep and to teach them about how sleep impacts health, safety, productivity, mood, and relationships.
National Sleep Awareness Week is a public education, information and awareness campaign that is celebrated each year in March around Daylight Savings Time. This is the time of year when we have to put the clocks forward one hour (yuck!) and we lose an hour of sleep.
Stay tuned this week for lots of great information on sleep health! I will include all links to the posts I create on sleep health below!
