It is estimated that up to 70% of IBS sufferers are not being treated for their condition. There is no cure for IBS but it can be managed with a combination of medications, diet and reducing stress.

There are no tests available to diagnose Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is diagnosed by ruling out all other possible conditions, diseases and cancer. It is basically a diagnosis of exclusion that is made if the symptoms fit (see yesterday’s post on IBS symptoms).
